Hear what Puss In Boots MD and Panto newbie, Joseph Conti, had to say when we caught up with him this week…
Where’s that sexy accent from?
“It comes from Caracas, in Venezuela, a country with lots of music and very sunny, and that’s what I’m trying to bring to cold London.”
What can a man from Caracas bring to a very British institution, like Panto?
“I will be bringing a bit of tropical flavour – I’m not telling you where, but you’ll know it when you hear it!”
What brought you to the UK?
“I came to London to study music – I was studying jazz at first, then I decided that I wanted to stay because I fell in love with the city and the people.”
What do you make of your first experience of Panto?
“It has been a great learning experience and very different from the jazz world where people can take music maybe a little too seriously! In panto rehearsals, people can have fun with it and make jokes. It’s also fun to be working with actors, rather than just musicians.“
What are you most looking forward to about performing?
“I’m looking forward to seeing the audience response and the kids’ faces. I’ll be inviting my nephew and niece to see the show so really hoping they’re going to enjoy it.”
