Show dates: 1 – 4 April 2020, Putney Methodist Church.

It is with deep regret that the PLOS Committee, together with our cast and creative team, have decided to postpone Jesus Christ Superstar.

With the current Covid-19 sutation we feel that this is the appropriate thing to do at this time. It’s not a decision we have taken lightly and it is with a heavy heart.

We are looking at alternative dates to reschedule the show with Putney Methodist Church, the cast and the creative team of Jesus Christ Superstar, and will communicate these to you as soon as possible.

Ticket refunds

If you would prefer a refund at this time, please do let us know and we will refund you immediately. If, for whatever reason, the show is not have to be rescheduled, we will of course issue you with a full refund. Ticketsource has also confirmed they will refund all booking fees.

We really hope that once we have confirmed new dates you’ll be able to join us. In the mean time, thank you for your continued patience and understanding.

Putney Light Operatic Society is delighted to announce that our Spring 2020 show is Jesus Christ Superstar.

  • DIRECTOR: Matt Howes
  • MUSICAL DIRECTOR: Harriet Oughton
  • CHOREOGRAPHER: Lauren O’Mara
  • PRODUCER: Ben Waterhouse

We are helping to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Putney Methodist Church, who have been long term supporters of PLOS.

It is with the help of the church and our dedicated members, who have been helping us to fundraise over the last few months, that we have been able to put on this fantastic show in such a unique space.

Jesus Christ Superstar is a Rock Opera written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. It follows the last few weeks of Jesus’ life told from the perspective of Judas Iscariot. Whilst the story is a biblical story Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice have stated that they neither wanted to confirm nor contradict that Jesus was the son of God, instead offering a show that looks at the psychology of Jesus the human being, and those who followed or opposed him.
